WEATHERMAX® HBR MIO has been locally developed for high build roller or brush application. It is a two pack polyurethane finish for long term durability in both exterior and interior areas. It is designed to be used over a wide range of suitably primed substrates such as mild steel, galvanised steel, concrete and aluminium. The micaceous iron oxide pigment particles interlock in the film to form a barrier against moisture ingress.

Features

  • Excellent gloss retention and yellowing resistance
  • Good abrasion resistance
  • Higher film builds achievable by brush and roller than conventional polyurethanes
  • Can be applied up to 125 microns DFT in a single coat via spray application
  • Accelerator available for use in cooler conditions

Benefits

  • Weathermax Accelerator allows application in cooler conditions
  • High UV resistance for greater durability
  • Protects against substrate deterioration
  • Protects concrete against spalling when used with Durebild STE

Uses

Micaceous iron oxide finish coat for heavy duty protection against weathering. Generally used as part of a protective coating system in: bridges and infrastructure, coastal and offshore structures, mining, oil refineries, public spaces, rail infrastructure, road infrastructure, sugar refineries, tank exteriors, transport.

Surface preparation

Round off all rough welds and sharp edges, and remove weld spatter. Degrease by detergent wash according to AS1627.1. For all structural and decorative steel, abrasive blast clean to AS1627.4 Class 2.5. Remove all dust. Apply first coat before surface deterioration occurs.
