Precautions and limitations
Note: Some plastics like polyethylene do not allow for paint adhesion even with primers. Test the plastic projects in an inconspicuous area first.
Previously Painted Surfaces
The surface must be clean and dry, free from grease, rust and dirt. Protect adjoining surfaces from overspray.
For wood, most metals (non-ferrous), porous and previously painted surfaces, and most plastics (uPVC and ABS) lightly sand the surface, no primer is required.
For other plastics we recommend using Dulux Spray Plastic Primer to prime your plastic.
For tiles, glass, enamels and laminate we recommend priming the surface with Dulux Spray Multi-Surface Primer.
Airless/Conventional Spray
1. BEFORE SPRAYING
Shake can for at least two minutes after first rattle and regularly during use. Lower temperatures and high humidity will slow the drying and affect the gloss level. Do not spray when air or surface temperature is below 10°C or above 30°C.
2. SPRAY APPLICATION
Hold can upright 20 to 25cm from the surface. To ensure surface compatibility, test spray on an inconspicuous area. Spray with smooth, even strokes parallel to the surface. This
product is formulated to resist running and sagging. It should be applied in several light coats, as opposed to one heavy coat.
Re-coating: Any time after 30 minutes.
Coverage: Up to 1m² per can, depending on surface.
Drying: Touch dry in 30 minutes under normal conditions.
3. AFTER SPRAYING
Prevent blocking by turning the can upside down and spraying until clear gas emerges. Also wipe front of nozzle clean. Clean up overspray while it is still wet with mineral turps.
Unused paint
