Precautions and limitations
All preparation and painting must conform to AS 2311: The Painting of Buildings.
Do not apply if temperature is under 10°C or above 30°C.
Not suitable for application in extreme heat, direct sunlight, or hot drying wind.
Do not use on etched, frosted, stained or lead lighted glass, or acrylic, plastic or Perspex surfaces.
Always spot test surfaces prior to application for suitability of removal and expected results.
The minimum film build required for easy peel off is 90 microns (DFT) for two coats. Ease of peelability is highly dependent on the minimum recommended film build. If the coating is hard to peel off, a third coat may be required.
Previously Painted Surfaces
- Do not apply paint if the temperature is below 10°C or likely to fall below 10°C during the drying period.
Ensure all surfaces are clean and dry prior to application. Brush down to remove dust. Previously painted surfaces must be sanded to remove loose, peeling, flaking or chalky paint. Sand all gloss and semi gloss surfaces to a dull finish and wipe down with a damp cloth to remove surface dust.
Note: All Surface must be tested prior to application for suitability and expected results.
Brush, roller
Wet-On-Wet Application
2 coat system required for film build. Apply the second coat 1-10 minutes after the first coat has been applied, to build the desired film build. If 10 minutes has passed, wait the full 1 hour recoat time before applying the second coat.
Spray, Brush, & Roller
Thoroughly stir all products with a broad flat stirrer prior to application. Apply two coats of Dulux PRECISION Mask & Peel. Once dried, test a small area by scoring with a dull blade and peeling a small section. If it does not peel easily, another coat is required for optimal performance.
Brush
High quality synthetic filament brush (nylon or polyester). Wet brushes with water prior to use to avoid clogging. Apply a full even coat using a premium quality synthetic bristle brush, ensuring the surface is entirely covered. Finish by laying off with light strokes in one direction for a uniform film.
Roller
Use a medium (10-18mm) or long nap (>18mm) synthetic roller to apply a thick, even coat ensuring the entire surface is covered. Lay off with light parallel strokes with a dry roller to achieve a uniform finish.
Dry Time
Allow 2 hours for Mask & Peel to fully dry prior to applying topcoat. Mask & Peel applies white and dries translucent.
Drying times at 25°C and 50% humidity. Under cooler or more humid conditions allow longer. Temperature must be above 10°C during application and drying. Avoid exposure to steam and condensation for 48 hours.
Airless/Conventional Spray
Spray
Suitable for application by standard spray equipment. Sags and runs can be smoothed with a brush. Do not thin.
