About Concrete & Paving Bare Concrete Primer

Dulux Concrete & Paving Bare Concrete Primer is the second stage in preparing bare concrete surfaces for the finishing coat. It is formulated to reinforce the surface for optimal adhesion of subsequent coats of paint.

Previously Painted Surfaces

• Pressure wash the surface (use a 1200psi or higher-pressure machine) to remove dirt dust, algae, mould and other contaminants as much as possible. 

• Prepare the surface using Dulux Concrete and Paving Bare Concrete Etch and Clean.

Brush, roller

1. Stir thoroughly before and during use.  

2. Mask all adjacent surfaces not needed for the application.  

3. Use a brush to apply to any edges and hard-to-reach places.  

4. Use a roller to apply 1 coat evenly across the surface.  

5. Gently go over the surface in the same direction with an unloaded roller using minimal pressure to give a smooth consistent finish. 

6. Allow the coated surface to dry for 20 minutes.  

7. Apply a 2nd coat and allow to dry for 1 hour.

Unused paint

Do not pour leftover paint down the drain. 

Unwanted paint should be brushed out on newspaper and allowed to dry, and then disposed of via domestic waste collections.

Empty paint containers

Leave empty paint containers open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle the container via steel can recycling programs.

Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first. 

Do not reuse container unless thoroughly decontaminated.
