Treading lightly

Dulux has been part of the New Zealand life since 1939, and today we're the country's largest manufacturer of quality paint products. From our earliest beginnings we've led the way in creating the best products for New Zealand's unique conditions.

Now we're setting the benchmark in sustainability and building a business that treads lightly on the planet. Our targets are ambitious: within the next two to three years we aim to reduce our waste production by 50%, as well as our water use, energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 15%.

We're confident we'll get there - we're already on the way. Our revolutionary EnviroWash system turns paint into clean water and solid waste. A portable system available to trade professionals, EnviroWash treats all types of acrylic paint and even oil or turpentine based paints accidentally poured into the system. Our Recycling programmes for tin, plastic, paper, cardboard ad solvents are reducing the volume of solid waste going to landfill.

These achievements have earned Dulux two major awards in the 2007 Sustainable Business Network, as well as the Green Gold award for sustainable business practices in the 2008 Wellington Gold Awards. We're proud of our leadership and the recognition it has gained.
